Roll-off containers for Morrison homes and jobsites

Morrison is the small historic town at the mouth of Bear Creek Canyon, and it punches far above its population because Red Rocks Park sits directly above it. The town itself runs a few blocks of stone and frame buildings along Bear Creek Avenue, with houses tucked onto steep, narrow lots behind them. Work here means canyon-road hauling, foothill property cleanouts, deck and retaining wall replacement, and cabin-era remodels where nothing is plumb or square. The surrounding unincorporated addresses up Bear Creek and toward Willow Springs bring larger jobs, including outbuilding demolition and defensible-space clearing. Placement, not volume, is the challenge on nearly every Morrison delivery.

What we know about working in Morrison

Morrison's core is a National Register historic district built largely from local stone in the late 1800s, and the buildings along Bear Creek Avenue sit close to the roadway with essentially no staging room. Residential lots climb the canyon walls, so driveways are short, steep and frequently shared between two or three houses. Above and around town, the housing ranges from 1950s and 60s cabins converted to full-time residences to newer custom homes on acreage near Willow Springs and below Mount Falcon. Bear Creek flooding shaped what got built where, and several properties still carry floodplain restrictions. The hogback and Dinosaur Ridge squeeze east-west travel down to Highway 8, Highway 74 and C-470. Wildfire mitigation drives real volume from snowmelt through early summer, and shaded canyon pavement holds ice long after Denver's streets have dried out.

Getting a truck to you

South on Pierce to Jewell, west to Kipling, then south to Morrison Road and southwest past Bear Creek Lake Park into town. When Morrison Road backs up for a Red Rocks show we take C-470 to the Morrison exit instead. Past the hogback the grades get serious. Short, steep driveways and shared access mean we sometimes set the container at the bottom of a drive and let the crew work down to it.

Routes we run: Morrison Road, Highway 8, Highway 74 (Bear Creek Canyon), C-470.

Permits, streets and placement in Morrison

On a private driveway in Morrison you generally do not need a municipal permit. Placement in the public street or right-of-way is a different matter and normally requires approval — from the borough or township where the road is locally maintained, or from CDOT where it is a state route. Every municipality in Jefferson County runs its own form and its own lead time, and older streets here often have no off-street parking at all, so plan the permit before you plan the delivery. It is a ten-minute call that saves a week.

Our permit and placement guide walks through the whole process, and CDPHE publishes the Covered Device Recycling Act rules and the other statewide disposal restrictions that apply to every load we haul out of Morrison. County recycling and household hazardous waste dates are published by Jefferson County.

Dumpster Rental in Morrison — FAQs

Does Red Rocks event traffic affect delivery times?

It does, and we schedule around it. On concert days Highway 8 and Morrison Road back up for hours before the show and again afterward, and parking overflow fills the town. We aim for morning deliveries and pickups on event days, or shift to a non-event day entirely when the schedule allows. Tell us your timeline when you book and we will check the amphitheatre calendar against it.

My driveway is steep and gravel. Can a roll-off truck use it?

Sometimes, and sometimes not. The limits are grade, the turning radius at the top, and whether the surface holds weight after rain or snowmelt. A loaded container weighs several tons more than an empty one, so a drive that handles delivery may not handle the pickup. We would rather scout it first and place at a flatter pull-off than tear up your surface or get a truck stuck on a canyon road.

Can I fill a container with slash and brush from fire mitigation?

Yes, and that is a large share of our spring and early summer work in the Morrison area. Keep the load to vegetation only, no dirt, rock or construction debris mixed in, since clean green waste can often be routed to a different facility. Cut limbs short enough to lie flat rather than bridging across the container, because a bridged load takes up volume you are paying for.

How quickly can you deliver a dumpster to Morrison?

Morrison is about 9 miles southwest of Lakewood, so it is a routine run for us. Same-day delivery is usually possible if you call before about 11am, and next morning otherwise. Storm weeks and the spring remodeling peak can stretch that, and we will tell you honestly when you call.

Do you charge extra to deliver to Morrison?

No. Morrison sits inside our standard service area and the flat rate is the same as it is in Lakewood. Delivery, pickup, your rental window and disposal up to the agreed tonnage are all included in the number we quote you.

What size dumpster do most Morrison customers take?

A 20 yard is the most common by a wide margin — it suits kitchen guts, multi-room renovations and three-bedroom house cleanouts. But if you are stripping plaster and lath out of a pre-war house, or moving coal-era brick, stone or concrete, size DOWN to a 10 yard heavy container and take two hauls — that material hits the weight limit long before it fills the box.
